Women’s Psychiatric Services

A leader in the field, the Women's Mental Health program received the American Psychiatric Association's prestigious Gold Achievement Award for innovative mental health services.
Our women's services provide diagnosis and treatment for women of all ages. Whether women are suffering from severe psychiatric problems or have symptoms related to the stresses of their social roles (marital and family relationships, juggling work and family responsibilities, parenting challenges), we offer treatment and support. Our psychiatrists are experienced in tailoring medication dosages to the female body, while taking into account hormonal influences like pregnancy, menstruation, menopause and birth control pills. Women’s services include:

  • Medication monitoring during pregnancy and breast-feeding
  • Expertise in treatment of postpartum depression
  • Psychopharmacologic consultation for psychiatric symptoms related to the menstrual cycle or gynecologic illness
  • Therapy for victims of rape or abuse
  • Treatment for eating disorders
