Dr. Allen Browne, associate professor of surgery, is quoted in a Daily Journal (subscription required) feature story about University of Illinois Medical Center patient Megan Sands. Sands is enrolled in a UIC study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, or LAP-BAND, for weight loss in severely obese teens.
