The stem cell transplant team approaches each case with the following goals in mind:
To significantly increase the survival and improve the quality of life of patients with hematological disorders.
To limit the complications that may occur during and after a stem cell transplant due to drug toxicities, infections, or graft versus host disease (GVDH) by a multidisciplinary clinical approach to the patients, safe and updated technologies for stem cell manipulation, and continuous training of the transplant staff.
To extend our approach to patients with other diseases such as solid tumors, who are not eligible for a standard transplant because of their age or clinical conditions.
To develop and improve strategies for using alternative stem cell donor sources.
