Smoking Cessation Clinic

Need Help to Quit Smoking?

Established in 1997 to help patients, faculty, employees, and students to stop smoking, the clinic offers patients an individualized consultation. The consultation includes:

  • developing a smoking cessation quit plan,
  • discussing the most beneficial smoking cessation medication for the individual based upon smoking history, triggers, and other diseases and medications,
  • and preventing relapse.

Initial Visit

The goals of the initial visit are to check:

  • the smoker’s carbon monoxide level
  • Fagerstrom test score
  • blood pressure and weight

Barriers such as weight gain and stress are identified and discussed.
