Robotic Assisted Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass

Robotic Assisted Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass

Weight loss surgery, otherwise known as stomach stapling, is now performed laparoscopically, thus reducing recovery time and hospital stay. The University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago Medical has one of the country's most advanced centers for minimally invasive surgery. We are also the only hospital in Illinois that offers the precise minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery for weight loss. Robotic assisted surgery, like conventional laparoscopic surgery, eliminates the need for large incisions that prolong recovery. The benefit to the patient is that it expands the capabilities of surgeons to view the operating field in three dimensions and precisely and naturally move the instruments.
