Antithrombosis Clinic (ATC)
This program assists with management and monitoring of patients who receive anticoagulants and antithrombotics such as:
- warfarin
- heparin
- low molecular weight heparin
- clopidogrel, ticlopidine
- cilostazol
- and various combination antithrombotic therapies.
Clinical functions performed by the pharmacotherapists include:
- evaluating appropriateness of antithrombotic therapy
- ordering pertinent laboratory tests and monitoring
- performing appropriate dosing adjustments for initiation and maintenance therapy
- providing in-depth patient education
- providing refill authorizations as agents for the referring physician
- screening for side effects
- drug-interactions
- signs of disease recurrence.
The service focuses on maximizing the benefits, reducing complications and adverse effects, improving patient outcomes, and decreasing overall healthcare costs of providing antithrombotic therapy.

Hyperlipidemia Clinic
The lipid program provides services to patients in need of medication and/or dietary management. Pharmacotherapists focus on:
- patient education about cholesterol levels
- diet
- lifestyle modifications
- initiating therapy
- maintenance therapy adjustment
- laboratory monitoring
- dose adjustments and titrations
- screening for side effects
- drug-disease state and drug-drug interactions.
