Pediatric Organ Transplantation Program

Pediatric Organ Transplantation Program

The physicians who have pioneered this unique program offer the most advanced transplant services available for children in the United States. Some of our smallest, most seriously ill patients are now able to receive kidney and small bowel transplantations from living adult donors. Before our research enabled these extraordinary procedures, children had to wait for organ donor transplants to become available. Our physicians believe living-donor surgery is preferable because it allows the flexibility to transplant children before they become critically ill. The Medical Center is the leader in living-donor small bowel transplants, performing more than any other center in the country.
