Specialized Testing
We offer a comprehensive array of diagnostic options for our patients, performed by highly skilled professionals using state of the art equipment. These tests include:
- Electroencephalography (EEG) is a special test used to diagnose epilepsy and other brain diseases. The EEG Laboratory is located on the second floor of the University of Illinois Hospital, 1740 West Taylor Street, Room 2171.
- Visual Evoked Responses (VER), Somatosensory Evoked Resonses (SER), and Auditory Evoked Responses (AER) are special tests of nerve conduction in the central nervous system. The tests are administered in the EEG Laboratory.
- Duplex and Transcranial Doppler Examinations are tests that noninvasively assess intracranial arterial flow. Tests are administered in the Neurovascular Laboratory located in the Neruology-Orthopedics Center in 2A of the Outpatient Care Center (OCC).
Additional tests include:
- Ambulatory EEG: a test for epilepsy, seizures, fainting, and black-outs.
- Neuropsychological Testing: testing for problems with memory and language.
For additional information about these tests and other diagnostic testing available at the University of Illinois Hospital, contact your neurologist.
The Neurology and Rehabilitation Clinic is in the Neurology-Orthopedics Center (2A) in the new Outpatient Care Center (OCC) at 1801 W. Taylor Street.
