Our Services

Our Services

We provide specialized care for patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), renal transplantation, acute renal failure, kidney stones, and immunological renal diseases.  We have a large program in ESRD, providing care to 170 patients.  Nephrology maintains a 23 chair outpatient unit, a 9 bed hospital dialysis unit and provides service and expertise to the Chicago VA Medical Center, Westside Division.   We also provide a high level of care to acute care patients located in the University of Illinois Medical Center’s consultative service.  We provide Peritoneal Dialysis services in addition to our Outpatient unit.

We are engaged in NIH and industry-funded trials in various aspects of kidney disease.  The research opportunities within the Section of Nephrology are diverse.  Our clinical research programs further the dialysis community’s knowledge in areas of acute renal failure, chronic renal failure, ESRD, hypertension and access management.
