Comprehensive Midlife Program for WomenSince the publication of the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) study, menopausal women, as well as women seeking relief from troublesome symptoms of the perimenopausal period, are looking for new alternatives to standard hormone therapy (HRT). Lin Schaye, CNM at the comprehensive Midlife Program located at One East Erie offers women a wide range of options individualized to their specific needs and belief systems. In addition to both conventional and bioidentical hormone therapy, complementary alternative therapies are offered within the context of a woman’s total health and lifestyle picture. Other aspects of the Comprehensive Midlife Program include psychiatric consultation by Laura Miller, MD and the Women’s Services Team from the Department of Psychiatry, orthopedic services including bone density screening by Manmahan Singh, MD and preventative cardiovascular care for women by Joan Briller, MD, a cardiologist. At the conclusion of the initial visit, referrals are made as indicated to these specialists. |
