Medicaid

- Patients who are disabled
- Patients at least 65 years old
- Children under the age of 18
- Pregnant Women

- At least $748/mo for household of 1 for full coverage
- Above this income, patient will have monthly spenddown
- $0-$3 with full coverage
- If not covered fully each month, patient must submit bills/receipts in amount of monthly spenddown

Preferred Drug List

Medicare - Patients who are disabled
- Patients at least 65 years old
- None
- Patients pay $66.60/month premium for Part B
- 20% after $100 annual deductible (billed through UICMC) Variable - Covers immunosuppressant medications for 3 years post-transplant or lifetime, depending on entitlement for Medicare and transplant-related criteria
- Covers diabetic supplies (test strips, lancets) and nebulized medications
- Covers clinic injections
Medicare Discount Card - Medicare beneficiaries - No income requirements
- If income is: =$12,569 for 1-person house- hold, or = $16,862 for married couples, individuals may qualify for a $600 credit.
- 10% to 25% savings
- Patients who receive a $600 credit will qualify for the 10-25% discount after the $600 credit is exhausted. These patients will not be charged enrollment fees.
4 Weeks - Not an insurance card
- One card per year
- Enrollment fees per card $0-$30
- Participating pharmacies only

Medicare Part D (Medicare Drug Benefit beginning in 2006) - Medicare beneficiaries - No income requirements
- Individuals may qualify for low income subsidy if income is below: about $14,000/individual; $19,000/couple and Assets Below: $10,000 per individual/$20,000 per couple.
