General Internal Medicine

Welcome to General Internal Medicine. We provide both primary care and consultative services for pre-operative evaluation and inpatient care. Our focus is on a comprehensive approach to patients in their need for medical care across the continuum of ambulatory and inpatient services. As the major site for primary care adult services, our ambulatory centers provide a focal point for the care of the growing number of patients in managed care plans affiliated with the UIC Medical Center.

Our perspective on primary internal medicine seeks a balance between the technical, scientific side of healthcare delivery and the humanistic aspect of caring for patients holistically and within their cultural context. We believe this is an exciting time to practice internal medicine with all the craft and knowledge that is available today and with the promise of exciting advances in the future.

Our Services

We provide primary care and various levels of specialty care, along with general medical consultations to adult patients. Our clinical focus includes comprehensive general internal medicine with special emphasis on health maintenance, prevention and risk factor modification, including diet modification, exercise, stress reduction and life style alteration. Our Team

With over thirty faculty members at the Medical Center and the West Side Veterans Administration, our team offers varied backgrounds and diverse clinical and academic interests.

Hours

• Clinic Hours (by appointment only)
  Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  
• Evening Clinic Hours (by appointment only)
  Wednesdays from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
  
• Urgent Care available for established patients (same day appointments available)
  Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m
