What is Health Psychology?

In Health Psychology, we provide emotional support for adult patients and their families who are dealing with difficult medical problems and treatments. We teach people how to cope with stressful medical issues to make the quality of their lives the very best it can be. We understand that medical problems can be hard to manage emotionally, and that they can cause concern and worry that can impact the whole family. If you are suffering from emotional trouble due to medical diagnosis, treatment, or prognosis, we can help.

Clinical health psychology is an approach to treatment in which biological, psychological and social factors are all considered together in the treatment of the patient. That is, we do not focus only on the medical disease, social situation, or psychological symptoms. Instead, we consider the whole person and how all these factors fit together in the person’s life.
