Financial Assistance at the University of Illinois Medical Center
The University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago provides financial assistance for uninsured patients that meet certain requirements. We determine the level of discount that you will receive based on your income in comparison to current Federal Poverty rates.
In addition, we offer a Catastrophic Claim discount that results in even higher levels of discounts in the event you incur a Medical claim that is in excess of a certain thresholds.
The charity program is designed for uninsured patients and does not offer any discounts on coinsurance, deductibles or other out of pocket expenses for patients with third party insurance. In addition, the program only covers services billed by the hospital and does not cover most physician services.
