Our ServicesThe Safety Facelift
J. Regan Thomas, M.D., chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois Medical Center, developed a technique called the “safety facelift” that combines the safest techniques with an effort to achieve a non-surgical appearance for the patient. The surgeons at the University of Illinois Medical Center use this technique to reduce the risk of complications and help patients achieve an improved and natural look. Only patients who are good facelift candidates will be accepted.
Good facelift candidates will be in good physical health (overweight patients may need to lose weight prior to surgery) and not smoke. Candidates with cardiac conditions or diseases such as diabetes should also carefully consider pursuing any elective surgery. These conditions increase their surgical risks and may lead to healing difficulties.
Facelift patients are hospitalized overnight, but most are back on their feet within a matter of days. Most bruising and swelling disappears by the end of the second week, and generally people feel comfortable returning to work and social activities. |
North Michigan Avenue Center
Many procedures like rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty and Botox injections can be performed on outpatients. More extensive surgeries like facelifts often require an overnight stay. Our new facility at 900 N. Michigan Avenue provides patients with a convenient location where they can have procedures done and return home the same day. We can even arrange for patients to stay overnight, under a nurse’s supervision, at the adjoining Four Seasons Hotel.
