Electron Beam Tomography Lab

Electron Beam Tomography Lab

Electron Beam Tomography Lab (EBCT) coronary calcium screening is used to detect early, subclinical cardiovascular disease. Recommended patients to be evaluated include men and women over forty years of age with at least one traditional cardiovascular risk factor. EBCT scanning utilizes special computed tomographic techniques to visualize the coronary arteries. The coronary screening examination is noninvasive, and the entire study is less than ten minutes in duration. The early detection of subclinical cardiovascular disease identifies individuals who will benefit from aggressive cardiovascular risk factor modification.
