Cardiology is committed to providing excellent clinical service that utilizes state-of-the-art technology. By virtue of the fact that we are part of a major university hospital and medical school, we also have a strong and unwavering commitment to education and research.
The clinical mission of the program is supported by a distinguished staff whose training and expertise places them at the forefront of contemporary cardiology. The clinical mission is further supported by a clinic which houses state-of-the art equipment for diagnostic and interventional catheterization, invasive and non-invasive electrophysiologic evaluation, and echocardiographic, nuclear, ultrafast CT, and MRI imaging of the heart. We also participate in the care of patients at the Westside VA hospital and at a newly established off-site facility, in Arlington Heights, which is electronically linked to the central offices of the section.
