Thank you for taking the time to sponsor a blood drive with the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago Blood Donor Center. Your life saving efforts are invaluable! The patients at our hospital benefit directly from your hard work and from the life saving blood collected at your blood drive.
Here are the requirements for setting up a blood drive:
Choose a date convenient to your schedule.
Reserve a large room for the day of the drive.
Include 6 long tables and 20 chairs with your room reservation.
Remind the building facility to provide portable electric fans for the donors if available.
Recruit volunteers to help YOU recruit blood donors.
Start signing up those blood donors! Please encourage these potential donors to eat prior to donation!
A few days before the blood drive, send the number of sign-ups to Samantha DiMaggio at Fax:(312)-355-4044
Phone-(312)-996-1344 so that we can prepare for that number of blood donors.
(Optional)-If possible, have 2 volunteers for the day of the blood drive: Volunteer 1: This person can welcome blood donors as they enter the blood drive and direct them to the registration table to fill out the registration form. Volunteer 2: This person can set up a table in a high traffic area to recruit walk-in donors and direct people where to go to donate blood. (The table should be reserved before the day of the drive). The Medical Center Blood Donor Center will provide a colorful banner and useful tools at this recruitment table.
We will provide refreshments for the donors after their blood donation.
Thank you again for your time and interest in the UIMCC Blood Donor Program. HAPPY BLOOD DONOR RECRUITING! “When you save at our bank-YOU SAVE A LIFE!”
