Our Services
General Eye Clinic/Comprehensive Ophthalmology
This service offers comprehensive eye exams and emergency eye care. It is recommended that adults receive a general eye exam every four years and children every two years.
Contact Lens Service
This service offers eye examinations and contact lens fittings. Additionally, the Contact Lens Service specializes in complicated lens fittings for various eye diseases.
Cornea Service
The Cornea Service sees patients with corneal infections, keratoconus, cataracts, tumors of the front portion of the eye, blepharitis, dry eyes, eyelid and conjunctival problems, and many other disorders. This service also has an Artificial Cornea Program.
Electrophysiology Service
This service tests rod and cone function in the central and peripheral retina to provide information on the diagnosis and prognosis of chorioretinal disorders, such as retinitis pigmentosa, Usher syndrome, stationary night blindness, cone dystrophy, Stargardt disease and inherited macular degeneration. The Electrophysiology Service also provides genetic counseling for patients with these diseases.
Glaucoma Service
Recognized internationally as a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and other conditions affecting intraocular pressure (IOP), the Glaucoma Service offers a range of specialized tests and the latest technologies, including a high resolution ultrasound biomicroscope, a confocal laser microscope for optic nerve imaging, and neodymium yag and diode laser.
Neuro-Ophthalmology Service
The Neuro-Ophthalmology Service offers expert evaluation and consultation are available for treating neuro-ophthalmologic conditions, including: optic neuritis, idiopathic intracranial hypertension (pseudotumor cerebri), and oculomotor complications of stroke, sickle cell disease, myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis, orbital inflammatory pseudotumor, giant cell arteritis, diplopia, brain tumors and pituitary lesions.
Oculoplastic & Reconstructive Surgery Service
This service offers the surgical treatment of patients with upper eyelid retraction, blepharospasm, epiphora and other lacrimal disorders, blepharoptosis, tumors of the ocular adnexa and orbit, blowout fractures of the orbital floor, and many similar problems. Reconstruction is also done in patients with rare conditions such as cryptophthalmos. In addition, blepharoplasty and other cosmetic oculoplastic procedures are performed.
Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus Service
This service offers general pediatric eye care, including general exams for newborns and children up to 18 years of age, and specialty clinics serving rare and unusual children's eye disorders, including glaucoma, genetics, neurocutaneous and neuro-ophthalmology. The service specializes in all diseases where the eyes are not aligned properly-from babies to senior citizens. The service also treats adult patients with strabismus. Strabismus is a condition in which the eyes are not aligned properly and point in different directions. When it occurs in adults, it is called adult strabismus.
Retina Service
This service sees patients with vitreoretinal disorders such as age related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, retinopathy of prematurity, intraocular tumors, severe eye trauma, and ocular complications of diabetes or sickle cell disease. The doctors in this service are specialists in laser treatment of the retina, retinal detachment surgery and vitreous microsurgery.
Uveitis Service
The Uveitis Service treats patients with ocular inflammation, including iritis, iridocyclitis, pars planitis, retinitis, choroiditis, ocular sarcoidosis and scleritis.
